11 Al-Qaeda members along with two senior commanders of the Taliban were killed in an airstrike in Nawa district of southern Helmand Province, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) reported.

Masoud Haqbin, a Taliban leader responsible for keeping foreign insurgents and facilitating activities of Al-Qaeda in Helmand province, was also killed in the attack, the statement added.

The report also said that four other Al-Qaeda members were also killed in an airstrike in the Nawa district a few days ago.

The Taliban has not yet commented on the report.
