At least 13 Taliban fighters were killed in Jowzjan and Sar-e Pol provinces, the 209 Shaheen Military Corps said in a statement.

Five armed Taliban fighters including one of their mine planters known as Mutawakel were killed and six others injured in their own mine blast in Sar -e Pol Province, the statement added.

In a separate report, eight Taliban fighters including one of their well-known commander (Quraish) were killed in an airstrike in Mimlik village of Fayzabad district of northern Jowzjan province.

Taliban have not yet commented on the report so far.
