At least three police officers were killed and ten others including seven civilians and three police got injured in two separate incidents in Western Herat Province.

Herat security officials say several men on a motorcycle carried out an attack on a security outpost in the restive of the province’s 10th police precinct, killing three police officers and injuring another including four civilians.

In a separate report, five people sustained injuries in an explosion in Herat’s seventh security precinct.

Two individuals have been arrested in connection to the incident, security officials said.
