At least 18 Taliban fighters including one of their key commanders were killed in Logar Province, the interior ministry said in a statement on Monday.

The Taliban fighters were killed in the restive of Logar Province after they carried out offensive attacks on outposts of security forces, the statement added.

According to the statement, 18 Taliban fighters including one of their key commanders known as Farid were killed in retaliatory attacks by Afghan security forces.

Taliban so far has not commented on the report.
