At least 22 Taliban fighters have been killed in the latest military operations conducted by Afghan security forces in northern Balkh and Takhar provinces.

18 armed Taliban were killed and 11 others injured in Afghan forces operation in the outskirt of Darqad district of Takhar Province, the defense ministry said in a statement.

In a separate report, four Taliban fighters were killed and eight others sustained injuries in an aerial raid in Zari district of Balkh province.

Taliban have so far not commented on the report.
