At least 23 Taliban fighters were killed and injured in northeastern Baghlan Province, provincial security officials have said.

13 Taliban fighters including one of their key commanders were killed and 10 others injured in a joint operation conducted by Afghan security forces in Baghlan-e Markazi district, provincial police spokesman Jawid Basharat said.

Afghan forces also destroyed an ammunition storage of the Taliban during the operation, he added.

Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
