209 Shaheen Military Corps in north in a released statement said that 23 Taliban fighters including a commander for the group’s red unit were killed in northern Jowzjan Province.

The Taliban fighters were killed in a joint operation conducted by Afghan security forces in Aq Chashma area of Darzab district of Jowzjan, according to the statement.

The statement further adds that Mawlawi Nur Ahmad known as Ayubi, a commander of the Taliban’s red unit is among the dead.

Taliban have so far not commented on the report.
