28 people freed from Taliban-run prison in Helmand

The special forces of Afghanistan released 28 people from a Taliban-run prison in southern Helmand Province.
“Afghan special forces raided the prison during an overnight operation in Nahr-e Seraj district of Helmand Province and released 28 people including a former military officer,” the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement.
A prison guard was killed in the operation, the statement added. The Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
