30 armed Taliban killed in central, western provinces

More than 30 Taliban fighters have been killed in western Herat and central Ghor provinces.
The Afghan ministry of defense said in a statement that 18 armed Taliban fighters including several key commanders of the group had been killed in an aerial strike in Dawlatyar district.
In a separate report, 15 Taliban fighters were killed in an operation conducted by Afghan Commando forces in Pashtun Zarghon district of Herat Province.
Four strongholds of the Taliban have also been destroyed in the attack, the statement added.
Taliban have not commented on the report so far.
