30 armed Taliban surrender in Herat

At least 30 Taliban fighters including one of their key commanders surrendered themselves to Afghan security forces in Western Herat Province, the defense ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
The Taliban fighters handed over their weapons to Afghan forces in Autora village of Herat’s Chesht-e Sharif district, the statement added.
The Taliban fighters were operating against government forces in Shahrak district of Ghor province, the statement further added.
The Taliban have so far not commented on the report.
