At Least 30 Taliban fighters were killed in eastern Nangarhar Province, local officials say.

The Taliban fighters were killed in an airstrike while they were attempting to carry out attack on a patrol of Afghan security forces in Serah road district on Nangarhar, Provincial Governor Spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said.

In a separate report, three individuals including a woman sustained injuries as a mortar shell fired by the Taliban hit a residential house in Nangarhar, Khogyani added.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
