40 Taliban fighters killed in Paktia, Takhar provinces

At least 40 Taliban fighters have been killed in Paktia and Takhar provinces, the ministry of interior affairs said in a statement.
30 armed Taliban fighters were killed during an operation conducted by special forces in Paktia, while six others were killed in Takhar province, the statement added.
A number of key commanders of the Taliban are also among the dead, according to the statement.
The Taliban have not commented on the report so far.
