531 new COVID-19 cases registered in Afghanistan

Afghan Public Health Ministry on Thursday reported it registered 531 positive cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
Speaking at a press conference, Deputy Health Minister Wahid Majorh said 531 cases were registered out of 1007 suspected samples in 15 provinces.
According to the ministry, 274 cases have been registered in Kabul, 69 in Herat, 55 in Balkh, 35 in Nangarhar, 26 in Wardak, 15 in Sar-e Pol, 13 in Parwan, 12 in Paktika, 12 in Khost, 7 in Paktia, 5 in Laghman, 3 in Faryab, 2 in Jowzjan, 2 in Farah and 1 in Badghis Province.
Also, six people have died of the virus in Balkh, Paktia, Logar, Herat and Panjshir provinces, taking the total to 193. Eight others have also recovered, bringing the total to 938. The total number of people infected with COVID-19 has reached 8,676 countrywide.
