At least 60 Taliban fighters were killed in Afghan forces’ ground operations in southern Kandahar Province.

The Taliban fighters were killed during firefights with Afghan security forces in Panjwai, Maiwand, Mianshin and Shah Walikot districts, according to a released by the Ministry of Defense.

22 other Taliban fighters were injured during the clashes, the statement added.

Afghan security forces seized quantity of weapons left from the Taliban on the battlegrounds, the statement further added.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
