Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation [HCNR] Abdullah Abdullah has arrived in Islamabad on Monday morning.

Accompanied by a high-profile Afghan delegation, Abdullah has paid visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, the HCNR said in a statement.

Abdullah will discuss issues concerning the Afghan peace process with Pakistani officials, the statement added.

During the visit, Dr. Abdullah will meet Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistani President Dr Arif Alvi, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Chief of Army Staff Javid Bajwa and others.

This is Dr Abdullah’s first visit to Pakistan. Earlier, he expressed hope that his visit to Pakistan could open a new chapter of cooperation between the two countries.
