Acting Ministry of Defense, Mohammad Yasin Zia, has paid a visit to northern Balkh Province to assess the security situation in this province.

He met with local officials and the commander of 209 Shaheen Military Corps yesterday and assured them that the security problems in the province would be addressed.

Mr. Zia’s visit to Balkh comes as northern part of the country has been witnessing increased security incidents since the past several months.
