Afghan CEO meets leaders of regional countries in Tajikistan

Afghan Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met leaders of some regional countries on the sideline of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building in Asia, in Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe.
In a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Abdullah said that the Taliban’s position was the main obstacle towards achieving peace, adding that realizing the process requires regional cooperation.
The two sides also discussed bilateral economic and political issues, according to reports. Iranian president stressed the need to expand economic ties between Tehran and Kabul.
Elsewhere he added:” The security of the regional countries, including Iran and Afghanistan, are tied to each other and therefore, establishing stability and development in the region depends on cooperation among the countries.”
