Mohammad Rafiq Alam, the district administrative chief for Taiwara of Ghor Province was killed in an explosion on Saturday.

Mr. Alam’s vehicle hit a roadside mine when he was heading to Taiwara district from Ghor’s capital with his family members.

The wife and two children of Mr. Alam sustained injuries in the blast.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident.
