At least 21 Taliban fighters were killed in Afghan forces’ reciprocal attack in northern Sar-e Pol Province, 209 Shaheen Military Corps said in a statement.

Taliban fighters stormed several security outposts in Sancharak district but faced strong resistance from Afghan security forces, the military corps said.

 11 Taliban fighters including one of their key commanders known as Damullah Nur Mohammad were killed and 10 others sustained injures in Afghan forces’ shelling, the statement added.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
