At least 14 Taliban fighters were killed in two separate aerial operations conducted by Afghan security forces in Ghazni and Badakhshan provinces, the ministry of defense said in a statement.

11 Taliban fighters were killed in Gilan district of Ghazni after Afghan forces bombarded their hideout, the statement added.

Three other Taliban fighters were killed in Wardoj district of Badakhshan, according to the statement.

Afghan forces launched the operation in Wardoj after Taliban carried out group attack on security forces, the defense ministry statement went on to say.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the reports.
