40 armed Taliban fighters were killed in two separate operations conducted by Afghan security forces in central Ghazni Province.

17 Taliban fighters were killed and five others got injured in an aerial strike in Shahbaz district of Ghani Province, the defense ministry said in a statement.

In a separate operation, 17 Taliban fighters were killed and seven others injured in an operation in Qara Bagh district of the province, the statement added.

Afghan forces have also seized quantity of weapons and a vehicle during the operations, according the defense ministry statement.

Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
