Afghan forces repel Taliban attacks, kill 12 fighters

The Afghan ministry of defense in a statement said on Friday that 12 Taliban fighters were killed during clashes with Afghan security forces in northern Balkh Province.
“Anti-government armed militants carried out attacks from several directions on many security outposts in Dawlat Abad district last night and Afghan forces resisted the Taliban in which 12 insurgents lost their lives during the exchange of fire,” the statement further added.
The Taliban have not commented on the report so far.
