Afghan forces retake control of district from Taliban in north

Afghan security forces have retaken control of Dasht Archi district of northern Kunduz Province from the Taliban fighters.
Spokesman for 217 Pamir Corps Hadi Jamal said that Afghan security forces launched an overnight operation in the Dasht Archi district and retake control of areas in the outskirts of the district from the Taliban.
Afghan forces have also destroyed hideouts and outposts of the Taliban and inflicted heavy casualties on them, Jamal further added.
Taliban had taken control of Dasht Archi a month ago.
