Afghan gov’t plans to repair 12 historical monuments

Ministry of Information and Culture of Afghanistan plans to repair 12 historical monuments in seven provinces of the country.
The monuments worth Afghani 122m will be repaired based on an agreement endorsed between the Ministry of Information and Culture and CEO of the National Development Company.
According to the agreement, Takht-e Rustam in Samangan, Chagni Castle in Nimruz, Haji Shahid mosque in Gozargah area of Imam Sahib district of Kunduz Province, Bast Castle, Shrine of Shahidan Helmand, Building of Ibn Haban Basti of Bast Castle, entrance of Bast well of Bast Caslte’s center and refrigerator and oven of Bast Castle are going to be restored and repaired.
Additionally, restoration of Mohammad Ghazi’s cemetery in Zendah Jan district of Herat, restoration of Mazad Khan Pool in Herat, restoration of mosque of Fotoh Castle’s garden in Kabul’s seventh precinct and restoration of Shahbaz Khan school in Andkhoi district of Faryab Province are also parts of the project.
Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mohammad Taher Zahir says historical monuments in many provinces are on the brink of destruction and require full attention.
