Afghan leaders unwilling to form interim government – Russian FM

Russia’s foreign minister says the Taliban’s belligerent behavior, the current government’s reluctance to form an interim government and the US withdrawal from the country make the situation more tense.
The turbulent situation of peace and war in Afghanistan has recently made Central Asia and the region more concerned; Russia has once again accused the Afghan government, the United States and the Taliban of making the situation tense after international troop withdrawal.
“The Taliban behave more aggressively,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
“Unfortunately, the leaders of Kabul do not want to form an interim government,” he added. Because they are afraid it will drive them out of politics in Afghanistan. “This means that the Taliban, the Afghan government and the Americans who are leaving the country have created a condition for a coercive scenario.”
The Afghan government and the Taliban have not yet responded; The presidential palace, however, has repeatedly stressed that it is ready for early elections.
Sergei Lavrov also called the expansion of ISIL activities in the northern provinces of Afghanistan a matter of concern and warned that Russia would take immediate action in the event of an attack on Tajikistan.
“Moscow and Dushanbe are united in the framework of the Collective Security Treaty, and the Russian Federation has a military base in Tajikistan,” Mr Lavrov said. “So we will live up to our commitments, and if there is an attack on Tajikistan, it will be investigated immediately.”
At the same time, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, speaking on a parliamentary committee, called the situation in Afghanistan a matter of concern and stressed the need for an agreement to resolve the Afghan crisis.

“I am not happy about the current situation in Afghanistan,” he said. I’m worried and I think the situation is full of apprehensive “We must hope that the parties in Kabul will come together and reach an agreement, and otherwise we must hope that the Taliban will finally find an accommodation.”
However, the Afghan Foreign Minister emphasizes the need for a collective approach to the current situation in the country.
“Today we face a different reality that threatens our common vision of a peaceful, prosperous and economically integrated region,” Mohammad Hanif Atmar said in a statement. “This is a sad fact, and it will plunge the region into a deep crisis if it is not addressed with awakening and collective action.”
However, it seems that after the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, the world, especially the region, has paid more attention to the situation in this country and the majority of countries in the region and Afghanistan’s strategic allies have called for a political solution of the Afghan crisis.
