The Lower House of Parliament in its plenary session on Wednesday introduced Kabul Mayor Mohammad Daud Sultanzoy to the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and declared his signature invalid.

Sultanzoy was referred to AGO due to his inability to prevent illegal constructions and other challenges in the capital Kabul City.

Lawmakers by a majority of vote said that Sultanzoy’s signature was no longer valid.

The decision was made after Sultanzoy did not appear in the house to answer MPs’ questions.
