President Ghani told an extraordinary session of the National Assembly that the people of Afghanistan were facing a ‘blatant aggression’.

Mr Ghani emphasized that the government’s negotiating team had realized that the Taliban had no intention of achieving lasting peace and that the group was trying to achieve its goals by force.

The President calls on the members of the National Assembly to give a decisive response to the enemy with a great consensus, adding that security forces are ready to defend their country.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mir Rahman Rahmani, says that the people of Afghanistan have been suffering from war for fourteen years and continuation of the current situation is not the solution.
