Afghan president, Pakistani PM discuss peace via phone call

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan discussed peace-related issues via a telephone call, the presidential palace said in a statement.
Both sides expressed grave concern about the escalation of violence in Afghanistan, the statement added.
During the phone call, Pakistan prime minister promised his country would work with Afghanistan in reducing violence and establishing a ceasefire, the statement further added.
This comes as a delegation of the Taliban led by Mullah Baradar has paid a visit to Pakistan following the three-week pause in Doha talks.
