Afghanistan confirms first novel coronavirus case

Afghan Health Minister, Firozuddin Firuz, has officially confirmed the first case of coronavirus in western Herat Province.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday in Kabul, he declared an emergency state in Herat and urged people to avoid attending gatherings, public baths and swimming pools.
The Afghan health minister also called on the government to close its border and impose travel restrictions to Iran’s Qom City. He also urged people to help the ministry in fighting the virus and avoid kissing, hugging and handshakes.
He further added that the coronavirus vaccination won’t be accessible to all until the next 15 months.
