Afghanistan’s total COVID-19 cases reach 12,456

Afghan Public Health Ministry said Wednesday it registered 625 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Deputy Health Minister Wahid Majroh told a news conference that the new cases were recorded out of 994 suspected samples.
According to the ministry, 360 cases have been registered in Kabul, 108 in Herat, 50 in Balkh, 26 in Parwan, 24 in Takhar, 14 Kunar, Baghlan 9, Panjshir 9, Laghman 8, Ghor 8, Nangarhar 5, Bamyan 2, Kunduz 1, Farah 1 province.
Seven people have died of the virus over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 227, while 10 others have recovered, taking the total to 1,138.
Majroh has once again urged the people of Afghanistan to take health instructions seriously to contain further spread of virus.
