Afghanistan records 30 more cases, tally jumps to 1026

The total number of people infected with the COVID-19 has reached 1026, with 30 new cases registered in some provinces.
“Over the past 24 hours, 15 new positive cases were registered in Kabul, six cases in Herat, four cases in Laghman, four cases in Kunar and one case in Nangarhar province,”Public Health Ministry Spokesman Wahidullah Mayar told a news conference on Monday.
Three people have also died of the virus within the past 24 hours, bringing the total of deaths to 135, he added. However, four others recovered.
Elsewhere, Mayar added that 110 medical personnel including 90 men and 20 women were infected with COVID-19 in Herat, Kandahar, Balkh and some other provinces.
Afghan health ministry has also warned that Afghanistan will face tough days ahead and that the people must take the ministry’s instructions seriously.
