Afghanistan records 545 new COVID-19 cases, 8 deaths

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported Monday it had registered 545 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
The new cases have been registered in 18 provinces. Currently there are 15,750 active COVID-19 cases in Afghanistan, according to the ministry.
117 cases have been recorded in Herat, 92 cases in Paktia, 66 cases in Kabul, 50 cases in Nangarhar, 48 cases in Samangan, 36 cases in Farah, 22 cases in Sar-e Pol, 20 cases in Bamyan, 17 cases in Logar, 14 cases in Takhar, 14 cases in Badakhshan, 14 cases in Ghor, 12 cases in Wardak, 12 cases in Faryab, 4 cases in Balkh, 3 cases in Kunar, 2 cases in Laghman, 2 cases in Badghis, the ministry said.
Eight patients have died of the virus, bringing the total to 265, while 100 others have recovered, taking the tally to 1,428.
