Afghanistan registers 253 new COVID-19 cases

Afghanistan on Sunday reported 253 new COVID-19 positive cases.
253 positive cases out of 529 suspected samples have been registered in 14 provinces in the past 24 hours, deputy health minister Wahidullah Majroh told a press conference.
71 cases have been recorded in Kabul, 43 in Balkh, 39 in Nangarhar, 22 in Jowzjan, 24 in Takhar, 16 in Paktia, 11 in Laghman, 11 in Kunduz, 8 in Ghazni, 4 in Kabul, 1 in Bamyan, 1 in Panjshir and 1 in Nuristan province, he said.
29 people have recovered in the past 24 hours and six others died of the virus in Balkh, Kabul, Laghman, Panjshir and Jowzjan provinces.
The total number of people infected with the new coronavirus has reached 4,033 in Afghanistan of which 502 have so far recovered and 115 others died.
