Afghanistan registers 285 new COVID-19 cases

Afghan Public Health Ministry said on Monday it had registered 285 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,687.
Deputy Health Minister Wahidullah Majroh told a news conference that new coronavirus cases were recorded out of 709 suspected samples.
According to the ministry, 161 cases have been registered in Kabul, 30 cases in Kandahar, 18 cases in Badghis, 18 cases in Logar, 16 cases in Nangarhar, 11 cases in Kunar, 7 cases in Herat, 5 cases in Kunduz, 5 cases in Ghor, 5 cases in Bamyan, 3 cases in Parwan, 3 cases in Helmand, 2 cases in Nuristan and 1 case in Wardak.
Two people have also died of the virus in Kandahar and Nangarhar provinces in the past 24 hours, bringing to total number of deaths to 122.
Meanwhile, 16 others have recovered, taking the tally to 504 countrywide.
