Afghanistan registers 408 new COVID-19 cases

Afghan Public Health Ministry on Monday reported it registered 408 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The new cases were recorded in 18 provinces out of 858 suspected samples, the ministry said.

According to the ministry, 162 cases have been registered in Kabul, 95 cases in Herat, 31 cases in Balkh, 20 cases in Takhar, 19 cases in Khost, 18 cases in Parwan, 15 cases in Paktia, 8 cases in Wardak, 7 cases in Logar, 6 cases in Baghlan, 5 cases in Daykundi, 5 cases in Ghor, 4 cases in Kunar, 3 cases in Paktika, 3 cases in Kunduz, 3 cases in Panjshir, 2 cases in Kapisa and 1 case in Laghman province.

Also, three people have died of the virus in Khost and Balkh provinces in the past 24 hours.

The total number of positive cases of COVID-19 has reached 7072, of which 173 have died due to the virus and 801 others have recovered.
