Afghanistan registers 782 new COVID-19 cases

Afghanistan Public Health Ministry on Saturday reported it registered 782 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

782 new COVID-19 cases out of 1,528 suspected samples have been recorded in 17 provinces, Deputy Health Minister Wahid Majroh told a press conference.

According to the ministry, 377 cases have been registered in Kabul, 150 cases in Herat, 49 cases in Balkh, 47 cases in Ghazni, 32 cases in Nangarhar, 28 cases in Paktia, 21 cases in Samangan, 12 cases in Paktika, 12 cases in Logar, 12 cases in Laghman, 11 cases in Kapisa, 10 cases in Kunar, 6 cases in Laghman, 4 cases in Farah, 4 cases in Ghor, 4 cases in Badghis and 3 cases in Takhar province.

11 patients have died of the virus in Herat, Balkh, Nangarhar and Ghazni provinces and 44 others have recovered.

The total number of people infected with COVID-19 has reached 9,998 of which 216 individuals have died and 1040 others have recovered.
