Afghanistan sees highest virus death toll in single day

Afghanistan on Wednesday recorded its highest death toll of 24 due to the COVID-19, taking the total to 294.
Public Health Ministry said that 758 positive cases had also been registered out of 1,323 suspected samples, bringing to the total number of people infected with the virus to 17,267.
232 cases have been registered in Kabul, 216 cases in Herat, 54 cases in Kandahar, 52 cases in Balkh, 48 cases in Jowzjan, 19 cases in Logar, 11 cases in Kunar, 11 cases in Faryab, 3 cases in Nangarhar and 2 cases in Samangan, the ministry said.
Also, 78 patients have recovered, bringing the total number to 1,522.
