The process of exchanging prisoners between the Afghan government and the Taliban is scheduled to begin on March 31.

“A delegation of the Taliban, the Red Cross, the United States, Qatar and a technical team from Afghanistan have made a decision concerning the release of prisoners in a four-hour video conference,” Spokesman for Taliban Political Bureau in Qatar Suhail Shaheen said on his Twitter.

According to the decision, the process of releasing prisoners by both sides, will begin on March 31, Shaheen added.

“The Taliban will assign and send a delegation to Bagram Airfield to pick up their detainees,” Shaheen further added.
