Afghanistan’s COVID-19 cases reach 1,176

Public Health Ministry Spokesman Wahidullah Mayar told a press conference on Wednesday that 51 new positive cases of the coronavirus were registered in eleven provinces within the past 24 hours.
“28 cases were registered in Kabul, six cases in Nangarhar, four cases in Kapisa, three cases in Herat, three cases in Kunar, two cases in Ghazni, one case in Parwan, one case in Bamyan, one case in Laghman, one case in Pakika and one case in Farah province,”Mayar said.
Four people have lost their lives and 16 patients recovered, Mayar added.
Elsewhere, the health ministry said on Wednesday afternoon it recorded 33 new cases in Kandahar diagnostic lab, bringing to total number in the country to 1,176.
According to the health ministry, 40 people have died of the COVID-19 and 166 patients recovered so far.
The ministry has once again urged people to take its instructions seriously to defeat the virus.
