Afghanistan’s COVID-19 cases rise to 1,939

110 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, Afghan Public Health Ministry reported on Wednesday.
The total number of coronavirus cases reached 1,939, with 110 cases registered in ten provinces, Spokesman for the ministry Wahidullah Mayar told a news briefing.
Mayar said that 58 cases were registered in Kabul, 15 in Kandahar, 12 in Paktia, Six in Ghazni, five in Nangarhar, five in Laghman, three in Takhar, three in Farah, two in Helmand and one in Kunduz province.
Also, three patients including a woman died of the COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 61 in the country.
The health ministry spokesman also confirmed that 252 people had so far been recovered in the country. He later warned that the COVID-19 cases will increase in upcoming weeks, urging people to take the instructions of the ministry seriously.
