The National Directorate of Security (NDS) of Afghanistan has arrested a group of four suicide attackers in Mazar-e-Sharif city, the capital of northern Balkh Province.

The individuals were arrested by special forces of the NDS during an operation from Ferdawsi intersection of Mazar City.

The individuals attempted to target founder of a private university, according to NDS statement.

The statement further added that one of the suicide attackers had joined the Taliban in Baghlan Province and was later sent to Kunduz. He was then sent to Mazar to carry out a suicide attack.
