Amnesty International has urged the Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS) to immediately release two Logar Civil Activists.
The intl body in a statement has called on Afghan government to release Musa Mahmudi and Ehsanullah Hamidi, who were arrested after exposing a paedophile ring that allegedly abused hundreds of boys.
The Afghan intelligence agency arrested these two Civil Activists on 21 November, while they were on the way to meet EU envoy in Kabul.
In a released statement, the agency said that the two activists had been transferred to a safe place. The arrest of these Civil Activists has triggered reactions among people.
On Tuesday, Ashraf Ghani has ordered the NDS to release the activists. Ghani also called on Attorney General’s Office and Afghanistan’s Human Rights Commission to seriously investigate claims over child abuse in eastern Logar Province.
