Motiullah Matin, Head of Balkh Labor and Social Affairs Department has sustained injuries in an ambush by anti-government armed militants.

Confirming the incident, Provincial Police Spokesman Adel Shah Adel said unknown armed men carried out an attack on Matin’s vehicle while he was on the way to Mazar-e-Sharif City from Balkh district.

According to officials of Balkh Regional Hospital the driver of Mr Matin has also got injured in the incident.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident.
