Car bomb blast claims lives of 8 Afghan forces in Maidan Wardak

17 Afghan security forces were killed and injured in a car bomb explosion in Maidan Wardak Province, the Defense Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
A lorry packed with explosives went off near a convoy of Afghan National Army (ANA) in Jaghatu area of Sayyed Abad district, killing 8 Afghan security personnel and wounding 9 others, the statement added.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the incident.
