According to initial reports, a car bombing on Monday morning in southern Helmand Province has killed 8 security personnel.

The incident took place at 7:00 local time after the suicide bomber rammed his explosives laden vehicle into a security outpost in Torpol area of Nad Ali district.

Confirming the incident, local officials in Helmand do not give further details about the casualties.

In a released statement, the Taliban have claimed responsibility for the car bombing.
