Car bombing kills and injures dozens in southern Afghan Province

Dozens of civilians and security personnel were killed in a car bomb explosion in southern Kandahar Province.
The explosion took place last night in Maiwand district, targeting a security outpost.
Confirming the incident, provincial police spokesman, said that the explosion killed four civilians and injured 36 others including security officers.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the car bombing.
In a separate report, a mortar shell fired by the Taliban hit a residential house in Ghazni Province, killing seven civilians including four children and injuring seven others.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the report.
