Civilian deaths at highest recorded level in March 2019 – advocacy group

Afghan civilian casualties from suicide attacks, target attacks, and bombardments have significantly increased in March compared to February 2019, an advocacy group for the protection of civilians reported.
The group reported that 106 civilians lost their lives and 59 others sustained injuries in February.
However, in March both the number of people killed and injured peaked with a total of 184 killed and 300 others including 54 children and 27 women wounded.
Aziz Ahmad Tasal, head of the advocacy group for the protection civilians said, that a large number of civilians were killed in suicide attacks, target attacks and bombardments in Kabul and other provinces.
After Kabul, Nangarhar, Helmand and Kunduz provinces were the scene of bloodshed and attacks in March, the advocacy group report further added.
