Gunmen entered a Hindu temple in Kabul today morning and engaged in clashes with Afghan security forces.

“The attackers entered the temple at around 7:45 am (0315 GMT) in Kabul’s 1st police precinct area and engaged in gun battle with Afghan security forces,” Interior Ministry Spokesman Tariq Arian said.

Arian added that Afghan security forces had sealed off the area and rescued a number of people from the first building of the temple.

Many reportedly killed and injured in the attack as clashes are still ongoing.

The Taliban denied any involvement in the attack.
