COVID-19 cases dropping in Afghanistan, says health minister

Afghan Public Health Minister Mohammad Jawad Osmani said on Sunday that the number of people infected with the coronavirus had reduced significantly in Afghanistan since the past ten days.
“COVID-19 cases have been declining since the past ten days. Based on our reports from our health personnel from different provinces, they confirm that the cases have been declining at hospitals and in laboratories,” he told a press conference.
In meantime, the ministry registered 409 new positive cases of the COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, taking the total number to 28,833.
12 people died of the virus and 472 others have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 581 and recovered ones to 8,764.
