COVID-19 cases reach 21,459 in Afghanistan

Afghanistan’s Public Health Ministry on Tuesday said it had registered 542 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 21,459.
Spokesman for the ministry told a press conference that the new cases were registered in 11 provinces out of 1,225 suspected samples.
According to the ministry, 213 cases have been registered in Kabul, 142 cases in Herat, 92 cases in Nangarhar, 36 cases in Ghazni, 22 cases in Paktia, 12 cases in Laghman, 8 cases in Kunduz, 7 cases in Panjshir, 5 cases in Kapisa, 4 cases in Logar and 1 case in Kunar province.
Also, 15 people have died due to the virus in Kabul, Ghazni, Paktia and Balkh provinces, taking the total number of deaths to 384. 480 have recovered bringing the total to 2,651.
